Villages
From the country holidays centre La Parada
del Cid it is possible to visit two clearly
defined sides. On the one hand the valle del
Arlanza
, where all the villages of this region remember
us the history and the legends of Castilla:
the lovely village of Covarrubias, the
romanesque of Santo Domingo de Silos, the
baroque Lerma, as well as the little
localities full of rural taste. In this area are
alternating the vast and rough plains and the
enjoyable valleys: the
narrow pass of the Arlanza, the Yecla,
the Cervera Rocks
, and much more marvels.
And on the other hand the Ribera del Duero,
land of wines, noble and ancient. Where its
lands accumulate a dense history and a rich
cultural heritage in its churchs and
monasteries. The roman city of Clunia,
Caleruega, Peñaranda, La Vid or
Aranda de Duero, come to offer us the
secrets of their past, inviting us to enjoy with
their famous gastronomy, where dominates the
roast lamb, and with their execellent wines.
